The Real Reasons For Low Testosterone In Men Today And How To Reverse

It’s the Testosterone Apocalypse!

At least that’s what many on the internet are saying. They’re saying that it’s not your fault, that your testosterone…your very manhood is under attack!

And they can save you. For a price.

Much of this is based on a 2011 U.S. study published in the journal Endocrinology in men ages 45-79 years old. In that study, the total testosterone levels measured in men’s blood was approximately 22% lower in men measured in 2004 versus 1987.

That is a lot.

Even when weight gain, drug use, and smoking (known factors that reduce testosterone) were statistically controlled for there was still a decline.

But it doesn’t mean the sky is falling. Studies like this show trends…but don’t show causation no matter what some internet marketer tells you.

Yes, there are likely some new environmental factors that arose during that time (like the internet and the chronic stress that comes from always being plugged into work) but even these are not entirely outside of your control.

Let me be very clear. The primary cause of low testosterone today is chronic inflammation and oxidative stress.

This is caused by problems in the “Big Four” lifestyle factors:

  • The quality of your sleep
  • The food you eat
  • Your physical activity
  • The stress in your life

The four factors above cause more than 80% of the negative effects on your testosterone. Not to mention keeping you from being your best in all aspects of life.

So, despite all the fancy testosterone “hacks” out there, if you don’t get these areas of your life under control…nothing’s really going to change.

This fact is supported by a 3 year study published just last year in the Journal of the American Medical Association which found that “sexual desire, erectile function, overall sexual function scores, partner intimacy, and health-related quality of life” did not improve in men receiving actual prescription testosterone replacement therapy compared to those that did not.

Wait, why not?

The men in the study still didn’t improving those “Big Four” lifestyle factors. This is clear because they had the same levels of obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease as the group that didn’t receive treatment…all diseases caused by chronic inflammation and oxidative stress.

You see, the continued chronic inflammation and oxidative stress neutralized the effects of the administered testosterone.

This study exposes a secret the entire testosterone raising industry doesn’t want you to know.

Testosterone by itself is not a cure all. You must improve your lifestyle to receive the benefits of increasing it. Otherwise even if your levels are raised artificially, the effects will be neutralized by aromatase, sex hormone binding globulin, cortisol, and other mechanisms.

Simply put, if you are fat, lazy, stressed and unhappy, and eat like crap increasing testosterone from an injection, pill, or even a dozen raw eggs and cold showers is not going to make a meaningful change in your life.

But they’ll still sell it to you.

And there is a positive to that secret. Because the Big Four impact testosterone’s effects so profoundly it means you are in control. Not some corporation.

So we are going to focus on changing the Big Four to improve your testosterone and life.

Look at the list below and write down the ones you have in your life today (be honest). Put a number next to each one, prioritizing them from 1 to 4, with “1” being – it negatively affects your life a lot, “2” – negatively affects somewhat, “3” – negatively affects a little, or “4” – not at all.

  • Stress
  • Excess fat or a “beer belly”
  • Don’t feel strong
  • Lack of muscle mass or definition
  • Poor diet (remember, be honest)
  • Don’t drink enough water
  • Don’t get enough sleep
